Middlebury advanced to the third round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament with a 5-0 win over Nichols in a match played at Middlebury College in Vermont. The host Panthers (19-3) will take on Bowdoin tomorrow in the regional final at 11:00 a.m., while the Bison finish their season with an 18-6 record.
Middlebury jumped out to a quick 3-0 advantage after doubles play.
Chris Frost and
William de Quant started things off by cruising past Gage Fox and Austin DuBois by an 8-4 score at #3.
Kyle Schlanger and
Noah Farrell made it a 2-0 lead when the duo topped Joan Castillo and Cam Lewis in the #2 slot, 8-1.
Palmer Campbell and
Peter Heidrich were 8-3 victors over James Smith and Josh Halpern in the top spot.
The lead quickly grew to 4-0 when Schlanger defeated DuBois by set scores of 6-0 and 6-0 at #5. The match concluded at #4 singles as de Quant topped Jake Zapatka, 6-1, 6-0. Farrell, Campbell,

Courtney Mountifield were up a set in their respective matches when the match ended.
