Middlebury advanced to the NCAA Men's Tennis Semifinals for the ninth time in program history with a 5-2 win over seventh-ranked Trinity (Texas) in a quarterfinal match that was moved indoors to the Camargo Racquet Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. The third-ranked Panthers (21-3) advance to the semifinals for second-consecutive year and will play Chicago, who defeated Amherst 5-4, on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The Tigers finish their season at 19-9.

In a rematch of last year's national third-place match won by Trinity by a narrow 5-4 score, Middlebury jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after doubles play. The top pair of Peter Heidrich and Palmer Campbell grabbed the first point via an 8-4 victory over Jordan Mayer and Clayton Niess. The #3 Panther team of William de Quant and Chris Frost doubled the lead with an 8-5 victory over Trinity's Charlie Curtis and Chas Mayer. Looking for the sweep, the Middlebury tandem of Ari Smolyar and Noah Farrell were victorious by an 8-3 score against Trinity's Aaron Skinner and Adam Krull.

In singles action, the Tigers grabbed their first point of the match at #6 when Mayer defeated Courtney Mountifield by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. In the #5 slot, de Quant put the Panthers up 4-1 via a 7-5, 6-4 win over Niess.

The Tigers pulled to within two at 4-2 when Campbell was edged by Mayer at #3, but Jackson Frons clinched the match in the fourth slot with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Curtis.

In the other two matches at the top of the lineup that went unfinished, Smolyar and Farrell split the first two sets and both were up in the third.
