Hillas Sixth, Koenigsberger Breaks School/NESCAC Record During NCAA Meet

Middlebury's Jamie Hillas and Stephan Koenigsberger both earned individual All-American honors, as Hillas wound up sixth and Koenigsberger broke his school record and the NESCAC record winning the consolation final in the 100 breaststroke events during the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day event is taking place at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas and is hosted by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the City of Shenandoah.

In the morning preliminaries, Hillas swam the seventh-fastest time of 1:03.62. She carried that momentum into the championship final, and improved one spot, touching the wall sixth in 1:03.18. Hillas finishes as a first-team All-American in the 100 breaststroke event for the second-straight year, matching her place on the podium from the 2014 Championships in Indiana.

As a team, the women sit in 18th place following three days of events with 38 points.

On the men's side, Koenigsberger touched the wall during the 100 breaststroke in a time of 55.50 to tie for eighth and force a swim-off with Duncan Booney of Birmingham-Southern College. Fighting for a spot in the championship final, Booney edged Koenigsberger in the swim-off sending the third-year Panther to the consolation final. Koenigsberger led the field to the wall with his school-record and NESCAC-record time of 55.08, good for ninth place and Honorable Mention All-American accolades. A few weeks ago during the NESCAC Championship hosted by Middlebury, he set the previous school record of 55.36.

Koenigsberger is the lone Panther men's swimmer to take part in the national meet, picking up nine team points for the win in the consolation final.

The fourth and final day of competition is scheduled to begin Saturday morning with preliminaries at 11:00 a.m., while the finals are slated for 7:00 p.m.
