The Middlebury women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a third-place effort among nine teams competing at the Ann S. Batchelder Golf Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Wellesley, took place at the par-72, 5,860 yard Nehoiden Golf Course.
Williams won the event with a 609, including a red-hot 300 on day two. NYU (629) placed second, followed by Middlebury (640) and Amherst (661). The weekend was the final event of the fall for the Panthers, who will return to action in April.
Lilia Everson led Middlebury on the weekend, shooting a pair of 77s to finish in a tie for fourth place. Katharine Fortin was next for the Panthers, turning in a 79 each day to claim eighth place. Finishing in a tie for 11th place was Helen Dailey, who came in with a two-day total of 161 (81-80). Hope Matthews shot a 167 (82-85) to tie for 19th, while Monica Chow rounded out the squad with an 85 each day to finish with a 170 and a tie for 24th place.
