The Panther swimming and diving teams continued their seasons with the first home meet of the year against Tufts and Keene State. The Middlebury women edged by Tufts by a score of 163.5-135.5 and Keene State 156-144, while the men lost to Tufts 191-103 and Keene State 200-80.
Jamie Hillas was a part of three event wins on the women's side. She touched the wall first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.79. She swam the second leg in the winning 200 medley relay along with Sarah Bartholomae, Megan Griffin and Courtney Haron in 1:50.29. In one of the final events of the evening, the quartet of Hillas, Morgan Burke, Griffin and Haron were victorious in the 200 free relay (1:39.94).
On the diving board, Elissa DeNunzio posted the top score on the 1-meter board, scoring 237.90 points.
In men's competition, Stephan Koenigsberger was victorious in the 100 breaststroke (58.64). Runner-up finishes came from Michael McGean in the 1000 free (10:01.64), Bryan Cheuk in the 50 free (21.66) and the 100 fly (53.59) and Matthew Lantin in the 500 free (4:45.54).
The Panthers have a few weeks off from competition before they host Amherst on Saturday, December 6. Events will begin at 1:00 p.m.
