The Middlebury women's volleyball team opened up its season with a 3-0 (14, 18, 19) win at the Johnson & Wales Tournament against the host school. The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they take on the University of N.E., Wheaton and Mount Ida.

Amy Hart led the team with nine kills, while Piper Underbrink had eight kills with a .727 hitting percentage. Megan Jarchow added to the offense with seven kills in just two sets, while Lauren Alper had eight digs. Kathryn Haderlein dished out 32 assists in the victory, while Melanie English had a pair of blocks.
