Men's Tennis Tops MIT

Middlebury won its second match in as many days as the seventh-ranked Panthers picked up a 6-3 win over #28 MIT (13-4). Middlebury improves to 12-4 overall and will entertain NESCAC foe Amherst on Saturday, while the Engineers see their eight-match winning streak come to an end in their regular season finale.

The Panthers picked up their first doubles sweep in a few weeks, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Derrick Angle and Eric Vehovec rolled at #2 doubles 8-3, while Brantner Jones and Spencer Lunghino edged Matt Skalak and Edwin Zhang 9-8 at #1.

Middlebury won three singles matches in straight sets, with Angle continuing his run at #3 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Brian Olfield. Alec Parower cruised past Larry Pang 6-2, 6-1 at #2, as did Teddy Fitzgibbons in the #5 slot, 6-0, 6-2 over Curtis Wu.
