Men's Tennis Defeats Skidmore

The seventh-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team improved to 11-4 on the season with an 8-1 victory over #22 Skidmore (8-6). The Panthers return to action on Wednesday when they host M.I.T.

Skidmore's lone point came in doubles play, where Danny Knight and Oliver Loutsenko topped Eric Vehovec and Derrick Angle, 8-3. The Panthers won the other two doubles contests for a 2-1 advantage after mixing up all three of their doubles teams for the match.

In singles play, Middlebury won all six matches with Spencer Lunghino coming from a set down to top Miles Ransom 3-6, 6-2, 7-5. Brantner Jones, Alec Parower and Angle each won in straight sets at 1, 2, 3, as did Teddy Fitzgibbons in the fifth slot. Peter Hedrich played his first match in the top six this season, topping Alec Hoblitzell 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 in the sixth slot.
