Box Score

Rookie goalie Dan Fullam needed just 19 saves to record his first career shutout and lead the visiting Middlebury College Panthers to a 3-0 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in NESCAC hockey action at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity drops to 8-9-2 overall and 5-7-2 in the NESCAC, while the Panthers improve to 9-8-3 overall and 8-5-1 in the league while extending their unbeaten streak against Trinity to five games (3-0-2).

Middlebury controlled play from the start, hammering Trinity sophomore goalie Ben Coulthard with 19 shots in the first period while holding the Trinity offense to just three.  Panther Charles Nerbak was the lone Panther to get one past Coulthard in the first stanza, scoring the game-winning goal from Tucker and Rob Donahoe 9:32 into the period.  Martin Drolet scored for Middlebury late in the second period on a rebound after the initial shot by Trevor Pollock, and Brett Brazier put the game away with an unassisted tally off a Bantam turnover in its own end with 2:20 remaining in the third frame.

Coulthard finished with 46 saves, one day after stopping 47 shots in a 3-1 win against No. 14-ranked Williams last evening.  Middlebury finished with a 49-19 shooting edge, while the teams combined to go 0-4 on power plays.
