John Yanchek earned his 40th career victory with 19 saves as Middlebury fought back from an early 1-0 deficit on the way to a 3-1 win over Colby in NESCAC play Friday night at Alfond Rink. Middlebury moves to 7-5-2 overall and 6-3 in NESCAC play, while the Mules fall to 3-12 overall and 1-10 in the league.
The Mules jumped out quickly when Mike Doherty scored his seventh goal of the season at 2:46 from Dan Nelson.
Middlebury's Nick Resor tied the game at 1-1 at 13:15 on the power play for the Panthers.
Middlebury went ahead for good on another power play goal at 17:54 with Charles Nerbak scoring on assists from George Ordway and Trevor Pollock. Resor closed out the scoring at 2:04 of the third period for the Panthers from Chris Steele and Louis Belisle.
Jordan Nathan made 23 saves for Colby.
