Men's Tennis Competes At ITA Regional

The Middlebury College men's tennis team was in action at the 2011 ITA Regional Championships hosted by Williams. The tournament is comprised of a 64-man singles bracket and a 32-team doubles bracket, with winners advancing to the ITA National Championship.

In singles play, sophomore Teddy Fitzgibbons (Mission Hills, Kan.), junior Alec Parower (Scarsdale, N.Y.)  and sophomore Brantner Jones (Winnetka, Ill.) each won a pair of matches before falling in the round of 16.

Middlebury was impressive in doubles play, with two teams advancing to the semifinals. Jones and sophomore Andrew Lebovitz (Weston, Mass.) picked up a pair of 8-3 wins, before earning an 8-6 victory to advance to the semis. The duo fell to the eventual champions from Williams by a score of 8-2. Parower and senior Derek Angle (Troy, N.Y.) were 8-3, 8-6 and 8-3 winners, before falling in the semifinals by a score of 8-3.
