The top-ranked Middlebury College men's tennis team opened up its season with three indoor matches played at home. The Panthers had little trouble with their opponents, defeating Oneonta 9-1 on Saturday, following that up with an 8-1 win over Brandeis. Middlebury concluded the weekend with a 9-0 blanking of Connecticut College.
The Middlebury doubles performances highlighted the weekend with senior Mike Malhame (Douglaston, N.Y.) and junior Derrick Angle (Troy, N.Y.) earning a solid 8-5 win over their 17th-ranked opponents from Brandeis. Doubles teams continued to dominate against the Camels, not dropping a single game.
