Women's Basketball Cruises Past Wheelock

The Middlebury women's basketball team held Wheelock to just seven first half points en route to a 62-23 win over the Wildcats in the consolation game of the Swarthmore Tip-Off Tournament. Brittany Perfetti was named to the all-tournament team.

The closest Wheelock would come was 11-4 Middlebury at 15:01, but the Panthers closed the half with a 25-3 run to take a 36-7 lead at the break. Eight points from Sarah Marcus, seven from Rachel Crews and six from Maddie Moreau paced Middlebury, as the Panthers built an insurmountable 29-point advantage.

Middlebury got eight second half points from Stephany Surrette, cruising to the 62-23 victory.

Nine different players scored for the Panthers, who shot 53% from the field. Surette led the team with a game-high 12 points, with Crews adding 11. Marcus chipped in with 10 points and three steals, while Katie Pett pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Wheelock was led by Keneisha Milton's eight points and seven rebounds, while Kayla Drescher contributed five points in the loss.
