Raunecker Wins 300th As Volleyball Topples Skidmore

Middlebury head coach Sarah Raunecker won her 300th career match as the Panthers (10-5) topped Skidmore (15-8) by a score of 3-0 (12, 18, 22) in Pepin Gym. Raunecker, who took over the program in its second year of existence in '95, now owns a career mark of 300-169. Middlebury returns to action Friday at Colby against Bowdoin.

Megan Jarchow led the team with nine kills, going 6-6 in the first set. Amy Hart finished with six kills, followed by Madeline Firestone and Jane Handel with five apiece. Julia Gibbs dished out 31 assists, Caitlin Barrett finished with 22 digs, while Handel added 10. Gibbs picked up five service aces in the victory, while Hart added four.

Kelley Vershbow led Skidmore with eight kills, while Elise Finnerty added seven. Samantha Friedman and Mallory Mendelsohn each earned eight digs in the match.
