Middlebury dropped its first game of the season at home (6-1) as the Panthers fell to Keene State, 67-57. Middlebury moves to 12-4 overall, while the Owls improve to 10—9. The Panthers struggled from the floor, going 20-66 (.303) from the floor and 5-22 (.227) from three-point range. Courtney Cirillo led Keene with a huge game, scoring 26 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out five assists.

With her eight made free throws in the game, Middlebury's Lauren Sanchez became the school's all-time leader in free throws made with 284, surpassing Emily Johnson, who converted 276 from '06-'09.

Middlebury trailed 8-2 early before a 9-0 run gave them an 11-8 lead at the 11:32 mark. Maddie Moreau sparked the run with a pair of hoops and a three. Keene State came back, holding a slight advantage for most of the remainder of the half. A late bucket from Middlebury's Scarlett Kirk gave the Panthers a 31-30 halftime lead.

The Owls extended their lead to six at the 13:44 mark, before a hoop from Sanchez and a three from Sarah Marcus cut the lead to one at 41-40. Keene came right back, slowly extended its lead, as the Panthers went without a field goal for a five-minute span and the Owls took a 53-46 lead with 8:08 remaining. The Panthers came within five down the stretch, but Keene answered by extending its lead and coming away with the 67-57 victory.

Tracy Borsinger led Middlebury with 13, Sanchez added 12, while Moreau scored 11 with seven boards. Stephany Surrette grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds in the game.

Supporting Cirillo's 26 points were Sara Laudano with 15, Siobhan Carnell with 12 and a game-high 16 boards from Meghan Farrell.
