Volleyball Opens NESCAC Play With Win Over Amherst

Middlebury opened up NESCAC play with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) win over Amherst in Pepin Gym. The Panthers move to 5-1 on the season and return to action on Saturday when they host St. Michael's.

Megan Jarchow and Jane Handel led the teams with 14 kills apiece, while Julia Gibbs added 10. Defensively, Caitlin Barrett picked up 18 digs, followed by Handel with 17 and Gibbs with 16. Lauren Barrett dished out 45 assists, Gibbs had three service aces, while Elissa Goeke earned three blocks.
