Third-seeded Middlebury picked up its first-ever NCAA Tournament win as the Panthers cruised to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-13) victory over sixth-seeded Polytechnic (N.Y.) (20-20) in an NCAA Regional match-up at Springfield College. Middlebury (25-5) advances to a second-round match-up on Saturday, where they will take on UMass.-Boston at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers are making their second NCAA Tournament appearance after falling in the first round in '98.

Megan Jarchow led the team with nine kills, Julia Gibbs added eight with a .353 hitting percentage, while Elissa Goeke hit at a .417 clip with six kills. Caitlin Barrett earned a team-high 15 digs, followed by Sarah Studwell with nine and Jane Handel with seven. Gibbs added five services aces and three blocks.
