Middlebury found itself on the short end of a 59-53 game at Colby-Sawyer on Thursday night. The Chargers outshot the Panthers 21-9 on the free throw line, while the Panthers scored 22 points of Colby-Sawyer turnovers.
Middlebury led much of first half including a 26-18 advantage. Colby-Sawyer went on an 8-0 run to tie the game before the Panthers answered with an 8-0 run of their own to take a, 35-26 at the break.
The Chargers chipped away in the second half, taking a 38-37 lead with 13:56 remaining. The game was tied twice after that point, as Colby-Sawyer took a slim lead and held on for the 59-53 win.
Emily Johnson led the team with a dozen points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Brittany Perfetti scored nine. Kaitlyn Fallon and Alana Wall each scored eight, while Allison Needham pulled down 10 boards.
