Men's Tennis Invitational Comes To An End

The Middlebury College men's tennis team hosted the 16th Annual Middlebury Invitational Tournament over the weekend on campus. Eight teams competed in the event with four singles and two doubles brackets.

First-year player Eric Vehovec (Toronto, Ont.) had an impressive weekend for the Panthers as he captured the "D" singles title. Vehovec picked up four wins in the flight, including a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the finals.

Senior Conrad Olson (Waterloo, Belgium) and sophomore Andrew Peters (Baltimore, Md.) both advanced to the semifinals of the "A" singles bracket before being eliminated from the tourney. First-year player David Farah (Flint, Mich.) did the same in the "B" flight as did rookie Derrick Angle (Troy, N.Y.) in the "C" flight.

In doubles play, Olson/Peters advanced to the semi's in the "A" flight, while Vehovec and sophomore Jeronimo Riefkohl (Munich, Germany) did the same in the "B" flight.

Riefkohl emerged as the winner of the "C" consolation bracket, while sophomore Ben Weitz (Elkins Park, Pa.) was the victor in the "D" consolation bracket.
