Men's Tennis Tops Amherst, Headed To NESCAC Final

Middlebury will have a shot at its fifth straight NESCAC Championship after a 6-2 win over Amherst in a NESCAC semifinal match on campus. The match was halted at 6-2 due to darkness with the outcome already decided.

The Panthers held a 2-1 lead after doubles play, increasing its lead to 4-1 after wins at #5 and #6 singles by Peter Odell and Rich Bonfiglio. Amherst kept its hopes alive as Zach Lerner won at #1, but Andrew Thomson ended the match with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over Jeff Wan in the #3 slot.
