Women's Basketball Falls At Union

Middlebury put on a big second half surge but it wasn't enough, as the Panthers fell 60-56 at Union. Middlebury ends its semester at 4-4 and will return to action on January 2nd when they host Rensselaer.

Middlebury led early, before a 9-0 run gave Union a 28-17 lead at the 6:53 mark. The Panthers cut the lead to six on a hoop from Alison Wells, only to see the Dutchwomen take a 43-28 lead into the halftime break.

Union led 48-34 in the second half before Middlebury went on a 15-2 run at the 13:53 mark to cut the lead to one. The run featured two threes by Brittany Perfetti and one from Ashley Barron. The Dutchmen would hold a slim lead for the remainder of the game, as they hung on for the 60-56 win.

Middlebury held a 57-41 rebounding advantage in the game, but shot just .278 from the floor. Perfetti led the team with 16 points and 11 boards, Alana Wall scored 13, while Barron netted nine with 10 boards.
