Women's Volleyball Goes 1-1 At NESCAC Quad

The Middlebury College women's volleyball team took part in a NESCAC Quad at Amherst over the weekend. The Panthers dropped a 3-0 match to the host school on Friday, before doing the same to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

Amherst proved to be too tough on Friday night, as they picked up their third win of the season over the Panthers. Senior Lindsay Patterson (Aspen, Colo.) earned five kills, while first-year player Elissa Goeke (Chevy Chase, Md.) had five, along with six blocks.

Middlebury rebounded on Saturday as rookie Jane Handel (Evanston, Ill.) led the offense with 13 kills in a 3-0 win over Hamilton. Junior Natalie DuPre (Louisville, Ky.) picked up 13 digs in the contest, while Patterson and first-year player Caroline Cordle (Atlanta, Ga.) had 10 apiece. Sophomore Lauren Barrett (Medfield, Mass.) dished out 29 assists, while Goeke had five blocks.
