Thomson & Marinkovic Win Doubles Title

The Middlebury College men's tennis team was in action at Williams over the weekend at the ITA Regional. The doubles team of senior Filip Marinkovic (Toronto, Ont.) and sophomore Andrew Thomson (W. Bloomfield, Mich.) turned in an impressive run as they won five matches to capture the ITA doubles title, 8-6.

The doubles team of sophomore Eliot Jia (Mount Desert, Maine) and first-year player Andrew Peters (Baltimore, Md.) won a pair of doubles contests, before falling in the quarterfinal round.

Thomson and Marinkovic were also impressive in singles play, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 56-man bracket. Thomson won two matches after a first-round bye, while Marinkovic picked up three wins.

Peters and sophomore Andrew Lee (Eden Prairie, Minn.) both advanced to the round of 16 before being eliminated.
