Middlebury will make its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals after defeating Amherst 4-0 in an NCAA Regional Final on campus. The Panthers will take part in the championship week from May 17-22 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Md.
Middlebury took an early 1-0 lead after a pair of convincing doubles wins. Brian Waldron made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Josh Rilla in the #1 singles slot. Nate Edmunds increased the lead to 3-0 as he picked up a 6-0, 6-3 victory at #3 singles over Danny Babkes. Ari Beilin sealed the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Lenny Lepner in the #2 spot.
