Men's Tennis Opens Spring With Four Wins

The second-ranked Middlebury College men's tennis team opened up its season with a round robin tournament on campus. The Panthers picked up four 7-0 wins over Brandeis, Rochester, Hamilton and Bates over the weekend.

Going 3-0 in singles play for Middlebury were seniors Ari Beilin (Hamilton, Mass.), Nate Edmunds (Birmingham, Mich.), junior Alex Scott (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) and first-year player Conrad Olson (Waterloo, Belgium). Seniors Brian Waldron (Rye, N.Y.) Jeff Oldenburg (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Matt Rales (Potomac, Md.), juniors Kevin Bergesen (Beverly, Mass.) and George Mayer (Merion, Pa.) and sophomore Filip Marinkovic (Toronto, Ont.) each went 2-0 on the weekend.

In doubles action, Scott/Beilin went 3-0, while Marinkovic/Waldron and Oldenburg/Mayer were both 2-0.
