The Middlebury women's basketball team opened up its season with a 69-63 win over Piedmont at the Amherst Tournament. Emily Johnson had a huge game for the Panthers, netting 12 of 13 free throws for a career-high 20 points on the night. Katie Fisher scored 16 in the win, while Jennifer Kelleher added nine points and eight boards.
