Middlebury Downs Hamilton

Katie Fisher and Emily Johnson scored 14 points apiece to lead visiting Middlebury to a 61-51 non-conference win at Hamilton.

Fisher and Johnson combined to pour in 22 points in the final 20 minutes as the Panthers (13-6 overall) erased a four-point deficit early in the second half. Middlebury outscored the Continentals 38-27 after the break. Micaela McVary added 13 points and eight rebounds. Alanna Young pulled down a game-high nine boards.

The Continentals led 24-23 at the half and went up 27-23 on an Erin Daugherty three-pointer just nine seconds into the second half. The Panthers then scored the next 13 points for a 36-27 advantage with 13:55 remaining. Fisher had eight points during the run. Hamilton closed to within four at 50-46 on Sathula's three-point basket with 3:46 left, but didn't get any closer. Johnson scored seven points in the final 2:32 to keep the Continentals behind.

Middlebury shot just 28.1 percent (9-32) in the first half, but rebounded to make 46.4 percent (13-28) of its shots in the second. The Panthers were 0-for-6 from three-point range during the first 20 minutes, but made 3 of 8 after the break. Hamilton shot 36.5 percent (19-52) from the floor. Middlebury held a 43-36 advantage in rebounds. The teams combined to turn the ball over 53 times.
