Men's Swimmers Compete At NCAAs

The Panther men's team was in action last week at the NCAA Championships hosted by Hope College in Michigan. Middlebury placed 21st out of 56 teams scoring at the meet.

The top performance over the weekend came from sophomore Robert Collier (Catonsville, Md.), who earned All-American status and set a new school record with an eighth place finish in the 200 fly (1:53.02). Collier also finished 11th in the 200 IM (1:53.87) and 14th in the 400 IM (4:05.35). Other individual highlights included senior Jason Korsmeyer (Weston, Mass.), who finished 13th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.01.

In relay action, Korsmeyer, Collier, sophomore Tim Lux (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and senior David Hawkins (Arlington, Va.) finished 12th in the 400 medley (3:28.60) and 14th in the 200 medley (1:35.96).
