Carson Eutsay of the Middlebury football team has been recognized as the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time as a Panther.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- With the Polar Bears driving midway through the third quarter in Saturday's contest, Eutsay caught an errant pass and ran it back 70 yards for a touchdown, giving the Panthers a 10-0 advantage.Â
- The linebacker collected his second interception of the day in the red zone with 2:21 left to seal the win.Â
- Eutsay's 70-yard touchdown return is believed to be the longest in Middlebury history since an 85-yard housecall by Middlebury Athletics Hall of Famer Sam Guarnaccia '30 in a 19-0 victory over the University of Vermont.
- He added three tackles in the shutout, including a solo stop.
- Eutsay's pair of interceptions in the early stages of the campaign are tied for the league lead with two other players.
Eutsay and his teammates return to action on Saturday when they host Colby with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff from Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium.
