The 23rd-ranked Middlebury men's cross country team secured eighth place with a score of 204 points in the highly-competitive Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational. Boston College claimed the team title with 34 points, while Brown (87 points) and Northeastern (98 points) logged top-three placements.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Benjamin Hughes paced the Panther contingent, overtaking six runners to place 22nd with a clocking of 25:21.5.
- Claiming 32nd place was Nate Johnson, who crossed the finish line with 25:33.9 showing on the clock.
- Benjamin Prestes was the next Middlebury finisher, posting a time of 25:56.6 to finish 47th on the leaderboard and establish a new personal best.
- Ethan Sholk (26:24.8) and Jared Rife (26:28.7) rounded out the scorers in 63rd and 68th places, respectively.
NOTES
- The Panthers were the lone Division III squad to compete in the event.
Middlebury returns to action in two weeks, competing at the Paul Short Run on Friday, October 2.
