William Zambito has been inducted into the Vermont Collegiate Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame. The award was presented by the Vermont Chapter of the National Football Foundation at the annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner on Sunday, May 3 at Vermont State University Castleton.
Zambito will graduate from Middlebury after double-majoring in computer science and economics. He was named to the NESCAC All-Academic squad three times and garnered College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades during his senior year.
On the field last fall, Zambito started all 18 contests over the last two seasons. He was tabbed an All-NESCAC Second Team Offense honoree. Zambito helped lead the conference's third-ranked rushing offense (1,293 yards) and anchored a unit that paced the NESCAC with 612 rushing attempts. The Panthers were the league's second-best red-zone conversion team with an 85.3 percent conversion rate. Zambito was a member of the 2023 NESCAC Championship team that posted an 8-1 record. During his career, the program amassed 26 wins (26-10) and four winning seasons.
