Season Wei of the 10th-ranked Middlebury women's golf team was unveiled as the Co-Rookie of the Year alongside Amherst's Emma Lindemoen to headline a quartet of conference accolades. Wei also received a first-team selection, while Ella Han and Morgan Lee were tabbed to the second team.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Wei (Co-Rookie of the Year & First Team)
- Wei becomes the first golfer in program history to take home rookie of the year honors.
- She has headlined the Panther contingent this spring, recording top-10 finishes in each invitational.
- Her best effort of the campaign came at the NESCAC Championship, where she finished one stroke shy of medalist honors with a three-round score of 220 (73-70-76).
- Other strong outings include a share of fourth place at the Northeast Invitational (71-77), a tie for seventh at the Hartford Blackledge Invitational (77) and a split of ninth at the Jack Leaman Invitational with consecutive rounds of 76.
- Han (Second Team)
- Han earns her third consecutive nod to the All-NESCAC Second Team.
- She logged a sharp opening 18 at the conference event with birdies on the first, fourth and 15th holes before an eagle on the par-five 18th. She finished in a share of 12th with Wesleyan's Kayla Howell at 229 (77-73-79).
- The junior's top outing came at the Northeast Invitational with a tie for fourth place. Han shot one-over during her second round to jump 10 spots and finish with a 36-hole score of 148 (75-73).
- Lee (Second Team)
- The senior tallies the fourth all-conference laurel of her career and initial second team slot.
- Lee tallied a career-low score of 70 in the second round of the league invite, posting a pair of birdies and matching par on 15 holes. The senior finished third at the conference championship, carding a three-day total of 222 (78-70-74).
- The Panther also tied for fourth at the Northeast Invitational with Wei and Han.
The Panthers earned an at-large bid to the upcoming NCAA Championship. Action begins on Tuesday, May 19 at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California.
