#19 Panthers Secure Four CSC Academic All-District Laurels

Hentschel, Lewis, Wijemmane and Wu each earned all-distict praises.

Hugh Hentschel, Noah Lewis, Thehan Wijemmane and Julian Wu of the #19 Middlebury men's tennis team have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hentschel
    • An economics major, Hentschel earns his second all-district laurel.
    • He tallied 14 singles victories and 13 doubles triumphs during the campaign.
    • Hentschel went 12-5 in solo action, with eight victories coming in the third slot. His doubles record was 11-6 in the 2026 portion of the squad's schedule.
    • The Panther closed his career with 101 total wins across singles and doubles.
  • Lewis
    • Lewis logs CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time.
    • The junior is majoring in American studies.
    • In doubles, Lewis went 14-9 with eight of his victories coming in dual action.
    • The Panther played primarily in the second slot during singles, posting five triumphs. 
  • Wijemanne
    • The economics major secures his second consecutive nod from the organization.
    • Alongside doubles partner Reif Larsen, Wijemanne tallied All-NESCAC Second Team honors after logging eight of his 11 wins as the Panthers' second duo.
    • He went 11-4 during the spring season in singles. Nine of those triumphs came at #3.
    • The junior sits three wins away from 100 combined in singles and doubles.
  • Wu
    • Wu grabs his second all-district accolade.
    • The senior was the top singles player for the Panthers, logging a 12-4 mark during the spring, alongside being named an All-NESCAC First Team selection. He was also selected to compete at the NCAA Individual Championships.
    • Wu logged 18 doubles victories and went 10-9 during the spring
    • The Panther has a combined career mark of 146-58. 

The CSC Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Wednesday, June 3.
