Panthers Pursue Consecutive Conference Titles in Williamstown

Donnell Harvey Jr. looks to defend his NESCAC crown in the 100-meter dash this weekend.
The Middlebury men's track and field team chases back-to-back NESCAC Championships for the second time in program history this weekend. Williams serves as the host for both editions of the league's initial installment of a two-day format, which kicks off on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

ABOUT MIDDLEBURY
  • The Panthers hoisted the program's first league trophy in 2018 before repeating the following season. The squad earned its third conference title in 2025.
  • Middlebury has logged 10 finishes inside the top three since 2011.
  • Last season's squad contained five event champions and 22 All-NESCAC selections.
  • Xander Swann '25 became the fourth Men's Sabasteanski Award recipient in school history at the meet and has brought his expertise to the Panther staff this season.
  • Head coach Martin Beatty '84 and his staff were named the league's coaching staff of the year, marking the fifth such accomplishment in his tenure (2005, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2025).
PANTHERS TO WATCH
  • Donnell Harvey Jr. earned the conference title in the 100-meter dash during his rookie season with a clocking of 10.79 seconds, besting Colby's Ian Irwin by two-hundredths of a second. His time of 10.65 seconds at the UC Riverside Spring Break Classic shares third in the NESCAC with Tufts' Jack Davis.
  • The rookie trio of Hayden Bobowick, Harvey Jr. and Emerson Kington contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x100 relay a year ago, stopping the clock in 41.54 seconds.
  • Joey Caspar enters with the top time in the 400 among his conference peers, enjoying a personal best 47.57-second effort at UC Riverside. He also slots third in the league in the 400 hurdles (52.76), while teammate Nate Gardner ranks fourth (53.21).
  • Toby Warmack paces the field in the high jump after matching the program record leap of two meters in California.
  • Holding second in the long jump is Caleb Smith, who soared 7.0m at the Riverside Spring Break Classic. That mark also tied the program record set by Enrique de la Mata in 1986.
  • In the 1,500, Benjamin Hughes owns the second-best time in the NESCAC. He crossed the line in 3:49.64 at the Mangrum Invitational.
  • Four Panthers reside in the top five of the 3,000 steeplechase. Owen Johnson (9:18.09) and Kieran McBride (9:23.46) garnered top-three positions clocked at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational, while Solomon McDow (9:25.47) and Ian Larkin (9:26.86) round out the group.
  • Emerson Kington, Wyatt Lawton, Cole Weihs and Caspar surged through the 4x400 relay to a time of 3:16.54 at Mangrum, good for the second-best effort leaguewide.
  • During the team's spring break trip, Sam Spector recorded a toss of 51.69m in the hammer throw, an effort that sits third.
  • The 4x100 relay group of Sebastian Hoiland, Bobowick, Sebastian Pantzer and Harvey Jr. clocked a 41.38 at the invite hosted by the Minutemen. The time trails Amherst's quartet by two-hundredths of a second to hold third.
  • Adam Ferreira has the third-furthest toss in the javelin at 58.63m. His throw was logged at the Mangrum Invitational.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
  • Williams headlines the conference with 23 titles and seeks its first since 2017.

The Mammoth comes into the weekend with the second-fastest clocking at 1:51.86.
  • Boyle's teammate, Austin Brown, claimed the 1,500 title with an effort of 3:52.79 a year ago. In the 5,000, Stan Craig looks to defend his title and paces the NESCAC by over 17 seconds in 2026.
  • Kaleb Barrett took the long jump with a 7.06-meter effort and ranks eighth in the discipline this season. Michael Abbey edged Tufts' Luke Benson by 0.02m to claim last year's triple jump and owns the 11th-furthest leap (13.40m) heading into the championship.
