Chase Zidlicky of the Middlebury baseball team has been named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Week after helping lead the Panthers to a sweep of Wesleyan in NESCAC West action.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Zidlicky pitched a gem in his lone appearance, allowing just three baserunners and striking out eight over seven innings of work. His efforts helped the Panthers cruise to a 7-0 victory to begin Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
- The rookie's eight strikeouts are tied for the most among his league peers in a conference game and set a season-best output.
- Zidlicky's seven innings are the most by a Middlebury pitcher in a single contest this season.
- The right-hander leads the team with 36.1 frames over eight appearances and sits third with 29 strikeouts.
Zidlicky and his teammates close the non-conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday at Vermont State University Castleton. The first pitch of the single contest is slated for 3:30 p.m.
