The Middlebury men's track and field team claimed eight event titles and logged numerous top-five finishes during its home invitational on Saturday from the Allan Dragone Track & Field Complex.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Lachlan Bishop posted a sub-50-second time in the 400-meter run, securing gold with a clocking of 49.46. Joining Bishop in the top five were Ryan Thompson (51.28) and Jack Ulrich (52.48).
• Calvin Szoradi led the pack in the shot put, recording a toss of 13.24 meters to win the event. Quinn Kennedy followed with a heave of 13.13m, while Andreas Panagos slotted fourth at 12.96m.
• The Panthers grabbed each of the top four spots in the 800, led by Benjamin Hughes with a showing of 1:52.64. Ethan Sholk followed in second place at 1:54.24, while Kieran McBride (1:57.17) and Nate Johnson (1:59.20) finished third and fourth, respectively.
• Adam Ferreira prevailed in the javelin by nearly 10 meters, achieving a throw of 55.46m.
• In the 400 hurdles, navy and white marked four of the top five placements. Joey Caspar took the event title by crossing the finish line in 52.97 seconds, while Nate Gardner (53.85) and Parker Loupessis (55.01) each landed in the top three. Finn Albright nabbed fifth at 57.75.
• Toby Warmack soared 1.97 meters on his second attempt to win the high jump.
• The 4x100-meter relay grouping of Sebastian Hoiland, Sebastian Pantzer, Hayden Bobowick and Donnell Harvey Jr. claimed first and established a facility record in the event, stopping the clock in 41.72 seconds.
• Benoit Skilton, Noah Klompus, Robert Altavilla and Rowan Sandhu placed one through four in the pole vault. Skilton cleared the bar at 4.20m, while Klompus and Altavilla each soared over 3.70m and Sandhu overcame 3.55m.
• Middlebury secured 10 of the top 12 spots in the 1,500. Zach Utz headlined the navy and white contingent with a second-place finish of 3:56.37, while Owen Johnson nabbed third less than two-hundredths of a second later (3:56.53). Benjamin Prestes (3:58.81) and Solomon McDow (3:59.71) rounded out the top five.
• Ben Martin (43.02m) and Gavin Hetherington (42.19m) finished second and third in the discus, respectively.
• Kennedy blazed through the 110 hurdles in 15.14 seconds, trailing St. Lawrence's Erik Marelli to the finish by one-hundredth of a second to secure a runner-up placing. Albright (15.29) and Caleb Smith (15.46) also posted top-five efforts.
• During the long jump, Jed Nelson enjoyed a runner-up leap of 6.47m. Andrew Vigneaux's work of 6.25m ranked fourth, while Paul Marzella took fifth (6.18m).
• Bradley Bozzuto stopped the clock in 16:10.36 to garner second place in the 5,000. Jared Rife followed with a time of 16:41.03 for third.
• Bobowick finished third in the 100 dash, clocking in at 11.08.
• In the 4x400 relay, the Panthers sent out the senior quartet of Utz, Shef West, Harry Griff and Johnson. The group posted an effort of 3:40.29 for third.
• Bishop earned a fifth-place finish in the 200, edging Plattsburgh State's Brian Shannon by six-thousandths of a second (23.712).

NOTES

• The 4x100 grouping bested the prior facility record established by Springfield College in 2010 (Amendola, Hay, Sharnick, Headley) by 0.21 seconds.
• Before the meet, the program honored seniors Bishop, Aidan Castanon, Griff, Johnson, Kennedy, George Madison, Sandhu, Utz, Tony Wang and West.

Middlebury travels to Massachusetts for the two-day NESCAC Championships beginning Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
