Men’s Golf Plays 36 Holes at Rochester Fred Kravetz Invitational

Evan Fulgieri competed for the Panthers

The Middlebury men's golf team competed at the two-day Fred Kravetz Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester. The Panthers finished in sixth place out of six teams with a 36-hole score of 616. John Carroll and the Yellowjackets tied for the team title with matching 569s, but the Blue Streaks were named the team champion due to the fifth golfer's score on day two. Swarthmore claimed third place with a combined tally of 586 strokes.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Charlie Schulman paced the Panthers in 20th place. He posted an 80 during Friday's opening round and tallied the ninth-best effort at Oak Hill with a two-over 72 that included a birdie on the 16th hole.
  • One shot behind was Nathan Keshen, who finished in a tie with two others in 22nd. Keshen fired a 75 on Friday with a pair of birdies and recorded a 78 on Saturday for a combined score of 153.
  • Posting tallies of 77 and 78 was Julian Galindo Macias, who garnered a share of 26th. He tallied a trio of birdies during Saturday's round.
  • Jake Forrest and Evan Fulgieri secured a tie of 30th after 36-hole scores of 157. Forrest recorded a birdie on the par-four 11th on Saturday, while Fulgieri fired two birdies in his round at Locust Hill.

NOTES

  • John Carroll's Arjun Aujla tied the tournament single-round record with a 66 on Saturday at Oak Hill. His round included four birdies and an eagle on the par-four 12th.

Middlebury heads to Connecticut for the three-day NESCAC Championship beginning on Friday, April 24 at the Fox Hopyard Golf Club.
