Sophia Will of the sixth-ranked Middlebury women's ice hockey team has garnered NESCAC Player of the Week laurels for the first time this season. The accolade marks the second weekly conference honor of her career.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Will was a brick wall in the crease for the Panthers on Saturday, denying all 23 bids she faced in a 1-0 victory over Trinity in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The win marked her 15th shutout while donning the navy and white.
- During the triumph, Will became the first netminder in program history to eclipse the 500-save threshold in a campaign. She accomplished the feat after becoming the record holder in single-season stops in the regular-season finale.
- The Panther sits 41 saves away from the program mark for career stops.
Will and her teammates return to home ice on Saturday, hosting the NESCAC Semifinals at 1:00 and 4:30 p.m.
