The Middlebury men's track and field team opened day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships from the Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. Both of the Panther entries competed during Friday's action.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Donnell Harvey Jr. represented Middlebury in the 60-meter dash. Seeded in a share of 17th in the nation entering the championships, the Panther clocked a time of 6.79 seconds for 10th. His time was only seven one-hundredths out of the final qualifying spot.
- Appearing in his second NCAA Indoor Championships, Caleb Smith sits sixth in the heptathlon through four events with 2,868 points. His best performance came in a fifth-place showing during the 60 with a clocking of 7.14 seconds.

- Harvey Jr. earns Second Team All-American distinction based on his clocking during the first round.
