Middlebury ski team member Julian Arthur has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association's (EISA) Male Alpine Skier of the Week after a solid weekend at the University of Vermont Carnival.

HIGHLIGHTS

• In Thursday's giant slalom, the Panther earned his first podium finish, completing his two trips down the mountain in 2:04.39 to secure third place by one-hundredth of a second. 
• Arthur followed that performance with a runner-up showing in Friday's slalom. The rookie clocked a combined time of 1:48.82, which was four-hundredths of a second off the top mark.
• The Panther helped the men's alpine team win the giant slalom and finish second in the slalom.
• Arthur has appeared in all four carnivals this winter, tallying four top-10 placings.

Arthur and his teammates return to the mountain this weekend for the Williams Carnival. Alpine action gets underway on Friday from Jiminy Peak Mountain in Hancock, Massachusetts.
