Arthur earns his first weekly honor from the EISA.
Middlebury ski team member Julian Arthur has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association's (EISA) Male Alpine Skier of the Week after a solid weekend at the University of Vermont Carnival.
HIGHLIGHTS
- In Thursday's giant slalom, the Panther earned his first podium finish, completing his two trips down the mountain in 2:04.39 to secure third place by one-hundredth of a second.Â
- Arthur followed that performance with a runner-up showing in Friday's slalom. The rookie clocked a combined time of 1:48.82, which was four-hundredths of a second off the top mark.
- The Panther helped the men's alpine team win the giant slalom and finish second in the slalom.
- Arthur has appeared in all four carnivals this winter, tallying four top-10 placings.
Arthur and his teammates return to the mountain this weekend for the Williams Carnival. Alpine action gets underway on Friday from Jiminy Peak Mountain in Hancock, Massachusetts.
