The #25 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team placed sixth at the four-day NESCAC Championship. Eighth-ranked Williams claimed its 22nd title with 1,725.5 points, while #9 Tufts was the runner-up and accumulated 1,640.5 points and #12 Colby rounded out the top-three teams with 1,274 points. The Panthers amassed 817 points.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• In the third event of the evening session, Anna McGrew blazed through the water in the 100 freestyle, posting an NCAA 'B' cut time of 51.08 seconds to garner third place. She bettered her preliminary time by 0.55 seconds in the championship final 
• Leading off the night were Isla Johnston and Hannah Baumgartner in the 1,650 free. Johnston finished fourth with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 17:16.32, while Baumgartner was 13th in 17:50.63.
• Isabel Pentony clocked in at 2:06.62 to secure 14th in the 200 backstroke. 
• The 200 breaststroke featured a quick championship final with the top-four swimmers securing NCAA 'B' cut times. Emma Hall touched the wall in fifth place with a clocking of 2:20.60, lowering her morning qualifying effort by 1.17 seconds.
• Avery Dollard competed in the consolation final of the 200 butterfly, recording a time of 2:05.81 to place 11th.
• Closing out the meet was the 400 free relay quartet of McGrew, Mia Cuiffo, Lauren Jolley and Grace Nadecki. The squad combined for a clocking of 3:31.39, which was good for ninth place. 

NOTES

• McGrew's podium finish was her second of the weekend after the second-year Panther won the 50 free on Friday in a school-record time.
• Over the four-day meet, the program set two school records and recorded three podium finishes alongside numerous personal bests.

Middlebury awaits its NCAA Championship fate when the field is announced on Wednesday, February 25.
