Miranda Moser bettered her finish by four spots in the 400 individual medley.
The #25 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team sits in sixth place with one day to go at the NESCAC Championship. Ninth-ranked Tufts leads the field with 1,262.5 points, while eighth-ranked Williams follows closely behind with 1,236.5 points. Rounding out the top three is #12 Colby, accumulating 952 points.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Kicking off the night session was the 200-yard medley relay. Anna McGrew, Emma Hall, Mia Cuiffo and Grace Nadecki combined for a ninth-place time of 1:44.79.
- Isla Johnston competed in the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall in 10:25.32 to earn sixth place. Molly Nordquist was 19th in the event with a time of 10:44.27.
- In the consolation final of the 100 butterfly, Cuiffo led the field to the wall, clocking in at 56.09 seconds to earn ninth place.
- During the consolation final in the 400 individual medley (IM), Miranda Moser bettered her finish from last year by four spots. The Panther claimed 12th with a time of 4:37.38.
- In the 200 free, Hannah Baumgartner secured 13th, touching the wall at 1:54.10.
- Emma Hall bettered her preliminary time in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in the championship final at 1:05.09, good for seventh.
- The 100 back featured a quick consolation heat with the eight competitors separated by 1.79 seconds. McGrew finished 11th with a clocking of 57.10 seconds.
- Pai Easterbrook tallied points for Middlebury off the 3-meter board. The senior finished in 12th with a score of 341.00 points.
NOTES
- Johnson bettered her seed time in the 1,000 free by nearly six seconds, while McGrew's evening swim was 0.93 seconds faster than her preliminary clocking in the 100 back.
The Panthers close out the championship on Sunday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals at 5:30 p.m.
