#15 Panthers Stumble Against #11 Tufts

Caleb Boateng earned a 3-1 win in the #5 matchup on Sunday in Massachusetts.
The 15th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team endured a 7-2 setback against #11 Tufts on Sunday.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ali Tarek opened the match with a lengthy sweep at the eighth spot (13-11, 15-13, 11-5) before Rohan Valia claimed an 11-7, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6 decision at #3.
  • Milo Friedman endured a five-game bout against Kian Kardestuncer (11-3, 6-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5) in the fourth position to give the Jumbos a 3-0 advantage.
  • Aarav Gill (11-8, 11-6, 11-4) and Santiago Carillo (11-8, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8) prevailed at #7 and #1, respectively, to clinch the match.
  • Caleb Boateng rallied after dropping his opening frame in the fifth slot against Jared Chin, nabbing three consecutive games to earn the first Panther triumph (7-11, 11-9, 11-1, 11-7).
  • After a sweep for Ilya Kipkalov at #9, Nachiket Desai secured a four-game win in the second spot.
  • Theo Kogan overcame a two-game deficit to earn a thrilling triumph in five against Mustafa Ayaz at #6 (13-15, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-6) to close out the match.
NOTES
  • Boateng logged his 10th victory of the campaign.
  • Charlie Clifford swept Rohan Bhatia in the exhibition match (11-3, 11-4, 11-8).
  • The sides met for the 14th time.
The Panthers close out their regular season with a two-match slate beginning Saturday against Connecticut College at 3:00 p.m. The contest will be hosted by Amherst.
