Former Middlebury alpine skier Ali Nullmeyer '23 has earned a spot on the Canadian Alpine team for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games that will be held in Milano Cortina in Italy. The alpine events are set to begin on Saturday, February 7.
It feels amazing to represent Canada and Middlebury at my second Olympic Games, said Nullmeyer. My time at Middlebury propelled my career by helping me rediscover my love for skiing after my knee injuries, while also allowing me to pursue my academic goals. I'm currently managing some nagging injuries, but I'm excited to take my experience and what I've learned since the last Games and put that to use!
Nullmeyer will compete in her second Olympics after finishing 21st in the slalom at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, China. The Toronto, Ontario native has competed in eight World Cup events during the 2025-26 competitive season. Her best finish came on March 27, 2025 with a ninth-place result in Sun Valley, Idaho.
We're so excited to see Ali qualify for another Olympics, said Middlebury head alpine skiing coach Abby Copeland. Whenever we have former athletes competing on the world stage, it rallies our team and gets us excited not only for our former or current athlete that is racing, but for our own upcoming competitions. We wish Ali all the best and hope that she skis fast and enjoys her Olympic experience.
Nullmeyer suited up in the Panther uniform for three seasons. In 2020, the Panther was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) Rookie of the Year and a First-Team All-East selection. She also earned All-American honors in the slalom at the NCAA Skiing Championships, finishing sixth.
