#22 Panthers Compete in Tri-Meet With #8 Williams and Hamilton

Isla Johnston won the 1,000 freestyle on Saturday.
The #22 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team fell to eighth-ranked Williams 218-65 and Hamilton 214-80 on Saturday in a tri-meet hosted by the Continentals.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Isla Johnston secured a triumph in the 1000-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 10:31.25. Hannah Baumgartner was 14 seconds behind in the runner-up spot with a time of 10:45.68.
  • Johnston (5:10.25) and Baumgartner (5:13.54) also claimed runner-up and third-place laurels in the 500 free. 
  • Mia Cuiffo swam to second-place honors during the 100 butterfly in 59.50 seconds, while Avery Dollard claimed fifth at 1:00.66.
  • In the 100 breaststroke, Emma Hall secured second, touching the wall in 1:08.14.
  • In the 50 breaststroke, Hall and Lauren Lin were fourth and fifth with times of 31.32 and 31.92, respectively.
  • The quartet of Sage Huddleston, Hall, Cuiffo and Grace Nadecki combined for a time of 1:50.35 in the 200 medley relay to secure fifth place.
  • Closing out the top-five finishers was Nadecki, touching in fifth during the 100 individual medley (1:02.57).
NOTES
  • Johnston's individual event victory is her sixth this winter and the third in the 1,000 free.
