Mariana Reedich secured a pair of sweeps in the fifth slot.
The 14th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team continued its positive momentum, extending its winning streak to eight with a pair of victories. The Panthers swept #24 Bates 9-0 on Saturday before defeating #17 Colby 8-1 during Sunday's action from the Bostwick Family Squash Center.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. BATES
- Each of the nine Middlebury points was tallied via the sweep. Madeline Schwarz earned an 11-0, 11-1, 11-2 decision in the seventh spot, while Lillian Showalter cruised to a quick win a slot above (11-2, 11-3, 11-5).
- Lindsey Burnham eased past Aasya Patel at the top of the ladder (11-5, 11-3, 11-5), while Lucy Ronda won via retirement in the ninth spot after not dropping any of the opening 19 points.
- Aanvi Anand (#2) clinched the match with three 11-4 game scores against Tia Billimoria, while Mariana Reedich (#5) endured the longest battle in an 11-7, 11-7, 11-4 triumph against Angelina Amastal.
- The final three points came from Caroline Didden in the eighth slot (11-0, 11-0, 11-1), Sabrina Schwarz at #4 (11-4, 11-5, 11-2) and Izzy Ronda in the third spot (11-8, 11-5, 11-5) for the final 9-0 tally.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. COLBY
- Madeline Schwarz put Middlebury ahead 1-0 with a sweep at #7 before Showalter tallied a four-game triumph in the sixth position for a 2-0 advantage.
- Burnham kept the momentum rolling, outlasting Laavanya Kugan in the top slot by scores of 11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 2-11 and 11-9.
- Lucy Ronda (11-8, 11-2, 11-7) and Reedich (11-6, 12-10, 11-9) helped secure the match behind their decisions in the ninth and fifth slots.
- Didden increased the advantage to 6-0 via a sweep at #8 (11-4, 12-10, 11-5) over Tori Thill. Anand battled back from a 2-1 deficit to post a thrilling five-game win (11-4, 8-11, 6-11, 11-6, 11-9) in the second position, before Sabrina Schwarz earned a three-game triumph over Maggie Motch (12-10, 11-4, 11-7) at #4 for an 8-0 lead.
- In the last match of the day, Izzy Ronda battled Abhisheka David in a marathon 55-minute showdown at #3. The players split the first two games 12-10 before Ronda secured a 15-13 decision in the third. David claimed 11-7 and 11-3 wins in the fourth and fifth for the final 8-1 tally.

- In the exhibition match on Sunday, Sophie Calise breezed past Gigi McWhorter in three games (11-2, 11-6, 11-2).
- Sunday's triumphs for Didden and Showalter extended their individual winning streaks to eight.
- The Panthers earned their 39th triumph in the series against the Bobcats. Colby and Middlebury met for the 50th time and claimed their 18th-straight victory over their conference foe.
The Panthers continue their lengthy homestand on Tuesday with a 4:30 p.m. match against #23 Hamilton.
