The Middlebury men's track and field program showed out in its annual Winter Classic, claiming 10 event victories over the two-day invite from the Virtue Field House.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• The Panthers swept the top three spots in the shot put. Andreas Panagos led the field with a toss of 12.60 meters during his initial attempt, while classmate Calvin Szoradi earned second (12.54m) and Ben Martin rounded out the podium (11.67m).
• Toby Warmack headlined two field events. The rookie cleared 1.97m to claim first place in the high jump and hit the sand with a leap of 13.58m during the triple jump for gold. Tony Wang joined Warmack with runner-up honors in the triple jump (13.53m).
• Felix Rogovin secured the 5,000-meter title, stopping the clock at 15:44.96, while Jared Rife crossed the finish line in second with a time of 15:58.43.
• Joey Caspar paced the field in the 600, placing almost three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher at 1:21.92.
• The 4x200 relay quartet of Nate Gardner, Emerson Kington, Donnell Harvey Jr. and Sebastian Pantzer combined for a top-spot time of 1:30.31.
• Harvey Jr. clocked a season-best mark of 6.86 seconds to win the 60. Finn Albright led the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.52 seconds
• Trailing by 15 points heading into the final two events, Caleb Smith soared 4.35m during the pole vault to surge to the top of the heptathlon leaderboard. He finished first with 4,816 points, while Kennedy earned second (4,597 points) and claimed three event victories.
• Rookie Wyatt Lawton recorded the fastest time in the 400, concluding his race in 50.27 seconds. Kington joined Lawton on the podium with a third-place clocking of 50.74.
• Middlebury closed the meet with gold during the 4x400 relay. Ryan Thompson, Lachlan Bishop, Lawton and Caspar paced the field, winning the event by over 27 seconds at 3:25.39.
• Sam Spector (14.79m) and Panagos (14.25m) finished second and third in the weight throw, respectively.
• In the pole vault, Caden Cote cleared a height of 4.30m to earn third place. 
• Jack Ulrich (2:00.64) and Benjamin Prestes (8:41.54) claimed bronze in the 800 and 3,000, respectively. 

NOTES

• Lawton shaved over seven-tenths of a second off his career best in the 400.
• Cote set a new personal mark in the pole vault by .05 meters.
• Through two invitationals this season, the Panthers have picked up 20 event titles.

Middlebury returns to Virtue Field House for its final meet in January, hosting the Luke Hotte Field and Track Meet on Saturday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m.
