Mia Cuiffo earned two event victories against Bates.
The 23rd-ranked Middlebury women's swimming and diving team excelled on Sunday, piling up 10 event victories and 23 top-three finishes to cruise past Bates, 160-119.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers earned a podium sweep during the 100-yard butterfly with all three swimmers separated by 0.26 seconds. Mia Cuiffo touched the wall first with a time of 59.98 seconds, followed by Lauren Jolley (1:00.06) and Avery Dollard (1:00.18).
- Cuiffo and Maddy Smith combined for a dead-heat finish in the 50 free. The rookie claimed the top spot, stopping the clock at 25.86. Smith was three-hundredths of a second behind for second.
- Pai Easterbrook swept the diving events, tallying 203.85 points on the 3-meter board and 163.05 points during the 1-meter competition.
- Another top Middlebury performer was Isla Johnston. The Panther clocked the top time in the 500 freestyle (5:15.91) and won the 1,650 free (17:57.48) by over 38 seconds.
- Hannah Baumgartner and Isabel Pentony continued the navy and white's winning ways with victories in the 200 free and 200 backstroke. Baumgartner clocked a time of 1:58.05, while Pentony touched the wall at 2:12.60.
- Closing the Middlebury victories were Avery Dollard in the 100 fly (2:07.67) and Miranda Moser with a 4:45.20 during the 400 individual medley.
- Emma Hall claimed runner-up spots in the 100 (1:07.58) and 200 (2:24.81) breaststroke events.
- Grabbing silver showings were Sage Huddleston during the 100 back (1:01.54), Baumgartner in the 500 free (5:19.83) and Grace Nadecki with a clocking of 1:58.75 in the 200 free.
- Middlebury's relay teams also put together runner-up performances. The quartet of Nadecki, Lucy Chivers, Huddleston and Baumgartner clocked a 1:40.47 in the 200 free, while Huddleston, Hall, Ciuffo and Nadecki combined for a time of 1:49.30 in the 200 medley.

- Ciuffo earned the top spot in a butterfly event for the third time this season.
- Moser tallied her first individual event triumph of the campaign.
The Panthers jump out of conference action on Friday, traveling to Massachusetts to battle Springfield on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
