#23 Women’s Swimming and Diving Falls to #16 Colby

Isabel Pentony swam lead-off in Saturday's second-place 200-yard medley relay team.
The #23 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team made its first splashes of 2026 on Saturday, falling to #16 Colby by a 209-89 decision. Isla Johnston and Hannah Baumgartner secured individual event victories during the dual meet.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers opened the afternoon strong in the 200-yard medley relay. The combined efforts of Isabel Pentony, Emma Hall, Mia Cuiffo and Grace Nadecki culminated in a second-place finish with a time of 1:49.86.
  • Baumgartner and Johnston excelled in the freestyle events. Baumgartner won the 500 free in 5:14.35 before finishing second in the 1000 (10:43.48), while Johnston touched the wall first in the 1,000 freestyle at 10:40.35 and took second in the 500 (5:15.48).
  • Hall posted runner-up finishes in the 50 (31.02) and 100 (1:07.4) breaststroke events.
  • Nadecki took second in the 100 free, stopping the clock at 53.97 seconds.
  • Pai Easterbrook accumulated 207.4 points off the 3-meter diving board to claim second place.
  • The Panthers closed the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Lucy Chivers, Lauren Jolley, Ella Callahan and Baumgartner posted a time of 1:40.61 in the event.
NOTES
  • Baumgartner tallied her third event victory of the season and her second in the 500 free.
  • Johnston collected her initial event triumph as a Panther.
Middlebury wraps up weekend action on Sunday, welcoming Bates to the Natatorium at 11:00 a.m.
