The Middlebury women’s soccer team opens the 2025 campaign on Tuesday, September 2 at Plymouth State. The Panthers begin their pursuit of a fifth NESCAC Championship after advancing to the conference tournament a year ago.

Roshann Purcell and Tessa Broderick combined to log over 2,000 minutes of action among a defensive group that surrendered just nine goals, the second-fewest in the conference. The Panthers kept clean sheets in 11 of their 16 contests, earning a 68.8 shutout percentage that ranked 16th nationally.

In the midfield, Gigi Day shared the team lead with four goals and added two assists a season ago. She was named the league’s Co-Rookie of the Year and a Second Team selection two years ago before scoring in three consecutive matches with game-winners in back-to-back games in 2024. Chloe Swindle tied for the team-high in assists (three), while adding two goals across 16 appearances and 13 starts.

Mia Feldman tallied twice with three helpers last season and earned her first career NESCAC Player of the Week award on September 16. Carolina Espinosa bolsters the attacking group as a team captain after appearing in 16 outings and making six starts. The Panthers also welcome 14 first-year players in 2025.

Kim begins his 22nd season at the helm with a 233-80-49 record. Kim's staff returns assistant coaches Phoebe Martell-Crawford and Jon Hammond while also welcoming Dean English as an assistant coach for 2025.
